St Lucie County Sheriff's Sue Woodward was WE LEAP INC.'s Month of June community EMPOWERMENT AND AWARENESS Presenter. Sgt. Woodward provided the SH MATTERS group with an outstanding RAD presentation sharing tips to help women to stay safe as possible when out and about in the community. WE LEAP INC. hosted it's first annual SAFE TEENS LEADERSHIP SUMMER CAMP. The Two Week TEEN DATING VIOLENCE AWARENESS CAMP was open to youth and teens ages 12 through 17 and was held at CA MOORE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL. The Camp Instructors The youth enjoyed peer interaction while learning about healthy relationships, hot meals, field trip and touring the city on the Ft. Pierce Trolley. The Youth ended the camp with community action project presentation to community leaders about teen dating violence.
WE LEAP INC. Participated in St. Lucie County Summer Safety Event at Tradition Field providing domestic violence awareness brochures and information about monthly empowerment and awareness sessions to community residents. AmeriGas awarded WE LEAP INC. with a surprise donation to help continue increasing awareness in the community and Sheriff Mascara also struck a pose with Gwen and Esther.
WE LEAP INC. participated at the Department of Correction Offender Re-Entry Event. Increasing Awareness to adults and teens and inviting them to participate in monthly empowerment and awareness session for support. The sessions are free to the community and services are available to connect participants with other resources in the community. Sessions are available for Women, Men and Teens to help educate them on how to identify unhealthy relationships, and promote healthy relationships.
