Silence Hides Violence
HE MATTERS Men Empowerment and Awareness sessions is designed to break the silence about domestic violence against men, and promote male involvement in domestic violence awareness and advocacy.

WHO WE ARE: 'WE LEAP' is a 501c3 nonprofit, domestic violence awareness, intervention, prevention and outreach organization based in St. Lucie County, Florida.

Educating the youth, teens & adults on how to break the cycle of domestic abuse
OUR VISION: 'WE LEAP' envisions a society where domestic violence is not tolerated because communities are enlightened and responsive to the needs of victims and their children.
FACT: 1 in 6 abused women will report that her partner abused her during the pregnancy. According to the Centers for Disease Control, at least 4 to 8% of pregnant women report suffering abuse during pregnancy.
MENTORING PROGRAM: For New Mommies!
Is designed to educate, empower & support first time expectant mothers between the ages of 13-25 years of age. Through the support of donations the 'WE LEAP' Foundation has created a mentoring program dubbed 'the annual baby shower for new young mommies'. It is an forum for awareness, intervention and prevention introducing new mothers to the resources and programs that are available to them during difficult times of parenting. The 'empower showers' provide first time mothers with tools for identifying an unhealthy relationship. Mommy mentorship is available for those interested in having continued support with meeting desired goals for building healthy relationships and promoting a safe and healthy environment, free from domestic violence and child abuse. Sharing that they are not alone and there are resources available to live a healthy and happy life for them and their newborn children.
Studies show that bullying and teen dating violence is a major social problem: one in five female high school students report being physically and/ or sexually abused by a dating partner and one in three teens say they know a friend who has been hit, punched or slapped by a partner.
